The North Carolina Folk Festival returns to downtown Greensboro Sept. 18-20, proving once again that some of the best things in North Carolina are still free.
Now more than a decade into its run, the festival has grown into one of the Southeast's signature music events, drawing hundreds of thousands of music lovers for three days of unforgettable performances, incredible food, local art, and the kind of discoveries you can't stream.
This year's lineup is one of the festival's strongest yet. Legendary hip-hop innovators and Grammy winners The Roots headline alongside Grammy-winning bluegrass sensation Molly Tuttle and soul powerhouse St. Paul and the Broken Bones. They'll be joined by an eclectic mix of artists including Madison Cunningham, Jackie Venson, Susto Stringband, Medicine Singers with Lee Ranaldo and Yonatan Gat, William Prince, Aaron Lee Tasjan, OKAN, Caleb Caudle, Yasmin Williams, Victoria Victoria, Bandits on the Run, Rakish, Brass Queens, and dozens more representing musical traditions from around the world.
Come for a day or stay all weekend. From Grammy winners to future favorites, family activities to late-night sets, handcrafted goods to incredible local eats, the North Carolina Folk Festival is the kind of trip everyone experiences a little differently.
