ECVA RECREATIONAL VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE

- Open to ages 9 - 16

- Divisions will be separated based on age breakdown. Teams will participate in the division based on the oldest member on their roster. We use the USAV age guidelines which use July 1st of 2024 as the cutoff date for each age division. The USAV age guidelines can be found here.

-**Anticipated Age Divisions: 12U, 14U, 16U

- Registration ends on May 19, 2024

- Evaluation and placement days are Monday, May 20th (A - E), Tuesday May 21st (F - L) and Wednesday, 22nd (M-Z) from 6 - 730pm. Athletes should attend the evaluation that corresponds with the FIRST letter of their LAST NAME. Athletes only need to attend one evaluation day!

- ALL TEAMS WILL REQUIRE AN ADULT VOLUNTEER COACH. Volunteer coaches will be supported by ECVA staff, including answering any questions, helping to understand rotations, and develop practice and game plans. Anyone planning to or interested in volunteering, please reach out to ECVAinfo@gmail.com.

- The initial team practice will be led by an ECVA coach to ensure all volunteer coaches are familiar with rotations/positions etc.

- Games will be played on Sunday afternoons and Monday/Wednesday evenings. Teams will NOT play every Sunday, Monday and Wednesday. Those are the possible game days and we will provide a complete schedule at the beginning of the season. Game times are Sundays at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm or Monday/Wednesday at 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm.

- Games begin Sunday, June 2nd.

- Teams will be comprised of a minimum of 8 players and a maximum of 10 players

- All teams will play 10 matches throughout the season

- Players will receive an East Coast Volleyball Academy t-shirt

- Championship matches will be played the last week of the league (TBD).

- All matches will be officiated by certified USAV Junior Officials

- If you have a group of 8 to 10 players that would like to be on the same team, all athletes will need to register individually and then one member will need to send an email to ECVAinfo@gmail.com with the complete list of names.

- Players have the option to register with a team already selected OR attend evaluations and be placed.

FAQ's
Do I need volleyball experience to play? No, this is a recreational level volleyball league. There will be a varied level of competition and experience. Championships will be divided based on your results throughout the season.

What type of clothing do I wear? Athletic clothing is recommended, including athletic specific shoes. Knee Pads are recommended but not required.

Do I need to bring a volleyball? No, East Coast will provide all necessary equipment needed for play

Do I need to have played at ECVA before registering for this league? No, we welcome all new players!

If I want extra training, like private lessons, camps, clinics, can I get that at ECVA? Yes! We offering volleyball training all year long

Is the goal of rec volleyball to have fun in a competitive environment? YES!!

**As a note, we expect all spectators to be aware that unsportsmanlike behavior is not tolerated here at ECVA. Negative comments towards coaches, athletes, scorekeepers, officials, or other spectators will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the site of competition.**
